Fakesgiving Picture Journal

As promised, here are some more photos of the Fakesgiving I had yesterday with my friends.

I unfortunately didn't get any good pics of David as Janeane Garofolo or Michael as Donatella Versace. He did turn into a topless mermaid later in the night though.

I'm sick and feel icky--congested, coughy and tired. Last night after everyone left from Fakesgiving I got a fever of 102.7 and became deliriously ill, made Peter go to the store to buy me medicine, and eventually passed out after I took a lukewarm shower to break my fever.

Today I felt a little better because I didn't have much of a fever and joined Michael and his family at Claim Jumper for Realsgiving. I had prime rib and it was delicious and I love Michael's mom because the way she talks, she makes everything sound like it's a really juicy secret.

After dinner, Michael and I went to see New Moon which was great.

Between all of this, I worked on the website and am proud to offer you some great deals. 20% off your entire purchase for Black Friday! Plus special markdowns on black items. See some of the sale items below and check it all out here: http://hallandhautes.com/

Recent happenings photolog.

Last night Peatar and I took a walk because it was windy and dark and rainy. We bundled up and brought our cameras. Here are a few pictures of it:

We took a trip to the grocery store on our way back. When we got home I decided to make molasses crinkles ("The best cooky from 1930-1935!") and chocolate chip cookies with Heath bar crumbles in them. They were delicious. At probably 11pm or so, Peter, Garrett and I decided to bring some cookies to welcome our new neighbors. One neighbor, Maria, was surprised but friendly. The other new neighbors' lights were off, so we just knocked on the door of the next apartment which lights were on. Daryl, was gruff and slightly socially scary, but I think he was appreciative. All in all it was exceedingly awkward and fun and we got to know some of the people that live in our building.

This morning I got up it was way too f-ing bright. Blindingly bright. So I took some pictures to contrast with last night's dark walk pictures:

Vanilla Yoghurt Tasting

3879182829_d823d91000_o

A few days ago, Peter and I did a yogurt taste testing of six varieties of vanilla yogurts. I now have a new favorite vanilla yogurt!

We rated each yogurt: Yami, Yoplait, Tillamook Vanilla Bean, Tillamook French Vanilla Bean, Darigold and Brown Cow on Texture, Taste, Style and Sustainability. Texture and taste are pretty obvious, but style referred to both the appearance of the yogurt as well as the packaging. Sustainability, for the purposes of our test, refers to how good the yogurt would be on a long term basis. In other words, is it a yogurt that is good for one bite? Or could you eat it day after day?

The number values on the chart below are a little arbitrary since I was not originally rating the yogurts on a numerical scale. Also, I had to kind of average Peter and my individual values, but it gives you a visual of our ratings I think. It was at least fun to make.

Chart made at Kids' Zone. lol.

Yami has a pleasantly rich custard-like texture. Despite its richness, it has only 3 grams of fat and has a subtle sweet vanilla flavor that does not overpower the yogurt flavor. Its color is natural looking and the packaging is cute. This was both of Peter and my favorite of the yogurts.

Yoplait was a fail. I have tried Yoplait's fruit flavored yogurts and thought they were okay, but the vanilla was just terrible. The consistency was gloopy and syrupy. Its flavor was "barely identifiable as yogurt." Too sweet and artificial tasting. I'm not a fan of Yoplait's "confusing" choice of shape for their containers. It is eco-unfriendly as animals can get their heads stuck inside the containers and starve/thirst to death. Additionally, "wide spoons don't fit."

Tillamook Vanilla Bean, originally my favorite vanilla flavored yogurt had a thick and smooth texture though not custardy. The flavor was very sweet and almost too good as in I imagine kids would love this yogurt. Its appearance was a nice white color with specks of vanilla beans. The classic Tillamook packaging made this yogurt approachable. "Oddly more sustainable than Yoplait, but more cloying."

Tillamook French Vanilla Bean. What is the difference between regular and French vanilla? After trying this yogurt I'm still not sure. The flavor was similar, but with a hint of alcohol like rum. It's a bit thicker than the regular TVB and has a nice finish. The crunch of the vanilla bean specks is noticeable in this yogurt. The appearance was darker and somehow more artificial looking.

Darigold was weird. My notes on its texture were gelatinous? watery? There was not a lot of vanilla flavor in this yogurt, so the yogurtiness really came through. To me it tasted too plain and had a bitter finish. The weird consistency lent itself to a cum-like appearance and there's a really ugly picture of a vanilla flower on the container.

Brown Cow (pictured above) rated surprisingly high considering its texture. In Peter's words, "Something is wrong here. It makes no sense, slightly lumpy, cum-like maybe." I described it as being like watered down spackle or glue. Despite it's ridiculously high viscosity, it had a pleasantly mild taste. "Tastes roughly like you'd imagine cooled, watered and ground gypsum would taste." (That's what Peter said, I don't even know what gypsum is.) Anyway, due to the "nasty" tastelessness of this yogurt, we both decided it was a yogurt we could eat frequently and therefore rated it high in the category of sustainability.

Overall, I'd rank the yogurts from best to worst:
1. Yami
2. Tillamook French Vanilla Bean
3. Brown Cow
4. Tillamook Vanilla Bean
5. Darigold
6. Yoplait

Peter's overall rankings were:
1. Yami
2. Darigold
3. Tillamook French Vanilla Bean
4. Brown Cow
5. Tillamook Vanilla Bean
6. Yoplait

The last part of last night's weird dream.

I had a dream last night. This is random, scattered recollections of it:

I remember standing on a street corner helping a giant woman (she seemed giant, was probably at least 6 feet tall and very big boned) take off her coat. I could tell that she and her two friends were German because they were talking w/eachother. And I for whatever reason decided to try to talk to them. My german is terrible and I said "Entschuldigung Sie bitte" which is like "excuse me" as I tried to walk around them. Then I asked "Konnen ich hilfe mit der buttons?" cuz I could tell this woman seemed a bit "special" and was trying to get her coat off.

Anyway, I helped her get the coat off and then I started crossing the street. Jeremy was in the middle of the street crossing diagonally even though there were cars coming and he said "Bun! Come follow me this way! I discovered something that other people on earth don't know about yet!" So I followed.

Eventually I got to the building I apparently lived in. Peter was there and tried to jump over a fence but kept not making it. I said "Aah! Don't kill yourself." and then somehow a penis joke got started. It probably went something like this:

Don't kill yourself Peter!
I'll kill you!
I'll kill your penis!
Your mom has a penis.
YOU have a penis! OH wait.

Or something equally tasteful and classy. Both Christina and Jeremy were there to join in. Peter and Jeremy were roommates and Christina and I lived together. We heard ZJ whining from the apt so we hurried up the stairs to get him. He'd peed on the floor but I wasn't mad because I blamed it on myself for leaving him home alone so long.

OH SHIT. I remember I was going to give my dentist a blowjob (WTF?) And I can't remember why, but it was in payment for something like my fake tooth that I have. He was not attractive (in reality I actually have an okay-looking dentist). He kept trying to have sex with me though and I was like "Stay away from my pussy! I'm not having sex with you!" And also was taking FOREVER to finish. Eventually I just asked him "How long is this going to take? Are you ... close?" and he acted all mock offended but I could tell he was really pissed off and frustrated. He said "You don't have to stay here. It's not like I'm going to take anything back if you don't stay."

There were also other people that I know from church Sunday school including a girl who's dead now. And I remember in the dream contemplating whether or not I could ever date her because she was super butch in real life.

There were necklaces that had messages written in beads on them, but I just had 3 blank cords around my neck.

Anyway, Mr. Dentist's penis was awful I hated it. I left because I felt really awful and sleazy. And then I think that's when I met up with the German ladies on the street corner.

Survey says ... & pills and love

Kimora Lee 5 (29%)
Mariah Carey 1 (5%)
Beyonce 3 (17%)
Elton John 5 (29%)
Courtney Love 3 (17%)

So for this last survey I asked who of these people you would you choose to decorate your house. I picked Elton John. I don't really know why. I just went with my gut (: As I so often do. Haha. I'm going to post a new poll so vote please k thx!

I have been sooo tired lately. I don't know what's causing it other than I was on my period. But that's done with now and I'm still tired.

Last night I took a pill cocktail of 1/2 vicodin 1/2 xanax 3 benadryl and my regular anti depressant (now I know what you're thinking, but I'm not tired just because of the pill cocktail because I don't normally take all that stuff). Anyway, I was feeling really cozy and happy and I forced myself to do 300 situps. Maybe it's just me, but I love to do situps right before I'm going to fall asleep, and sometimes I fall asleep between sets. But then afterwards I can just crawl into bed and pass out.

Anyway, last night the boy I'm pretty much in love with told me he loved me. And he's said it lots of times before, but for some reason either the way he said it or the way I heard it was different. Maybe it was just the pill cocktail. But it gave me that warm fuzzy love-y feeling and I'm still kind of riding that high (:

And since I'm in such a good mood, I leave you with this picture to enjoy (:

P.S. Be careful not to get punk'd today as it is April Fools Day (: oh and btw it's also Badtz Maru's bday for anyone else as nerdy as I am.

p.p.s. photobucket deleted the sexy brian atwood man so this image is courtesy of the homotgraphy blog which is pretty fucking hot shit.

French bread, dreaming in color, & super kawaii treasury

Yesterday all I ate was 1 entire loaf of French bread. At first I thought I was bingeing terribly, but if my calculations are correct, it was 1650 calories. Which for a whole day is entirely reasonable. I am aware that white bread as your sole source of nutrition is a pretty bad idea.

My mom has been dieting and it stresses me out how self-conscious she is. Anytime she's making food she's all, "DON'T JUDGE ME!" which is funny because I always feel judged and criticized by her about my own eating.

The more I go to therapy, the angrier I get about my mother. I really hope she doesn't read this blog.

Uhh ... anyway. I got up this morning to check out the Just Cavalli sale at gilt.com but it was entirely boring. So was the 7 For All Mankind sale.

Last night I called my friend/the love of my life Peter and we talked about dreams. He's under the impression some people dream in black and white. I told him I thought that was just a myth. So I just googled it and (obvs the first result in Google is the Truth) came up with this very interesting article about it. Plus look at the very bottom of the page. Below the profound thought about colorblind people. The link title made me LOL.

I'm going back to bed now to try and dream about colors.

PS: Check out my first etsy "treasury" and click through to some of the pictures. I finally curated one! It's super kawaii! lolz. click here to view.
