Rustle these leaves. Ruffle these feathers.

Wow. Fall fashion is grinding my gears as of late. I haven't/probably won't buy the Sept. issue of Vogue. I flipped through it at the grocery store the other day and was unimpressed.

Today I went to Nordstrom Rack with cute boy tryna to find shoes. That was disappointing. Not even cute-but-out-of-my-price-range shoes. Pathetic. I came home and started some online shopping.

Things I'm specifically looking for:

a great, comfortable and durable pair of boots for fall. Versatile. Maybe gray. For sure over the calf, and quite interested in over the knee. Relatively minimal.

I really like these Dolce Vita "Bronson" boots. Michael was "meh" on them, but he was going to get elastic cuffed jeans, so who's he to talk?? (:

Tomorrow I am going to a Mariners game with my dad. It's "gluten free" night! Cray-cray. Apparently there will be vendors in a certain section of the stadium offering gluten free hot dogs/beer/whatever. That's kind of cool.

I ran out of Ambien so I'm slummin' it with Bendadryl.

want!

I moved into a new apartment! My blog posting slowed to nothing recently, but I'd like to think part of it is due to my new, kinda big change. I moved in with best friend Michael, about a block away from where I used to live. Michael describes it well:

It's a recluse's dream!

It's built into the hill so it's basement level but has its own entry. It's dark (which Michael and I like) and it's old and full of weird, little nooks. Decorating my room in mostly grays. Hopefully pictures to post soon.

Anyway, onto the subject of this post which is want! Michael and I have been spending money on stuff for the new place which is fun, but kind of boring when it's things like paper towels, dish racks, and light bulbs. I've been doing altogether too much online droolshopping for things I don't need at all but WANT so bad.

Haven't worn heels for a looong time. These appeal to me:

Marni platform pumps in brown/grey.

Dolce Vita "Lana" platforms in grey.

Dolce Vita "Lidia" platform sandals in magenta.

And I've been wanting a giant summer tote. I'm not in love with this, but a little bit in want.

Internet, don't fail me now!

Lorisshoes.com is having a "secret sale" (is it really that much of a secret? The coupon code is: secretsale

It's 20% off! AAHHHH. Why must shoes cost money?

Anyway, despite sketchy internet connection (there's a windstorm tonight), I have been ogling some amazing shoes I have no business looking at. The discount applies even to sale items! The prices I've listed are without the 20% off. Here are some of my faves:

Jeffrey Campbell ZIP-004 - Black/Grey
. $306 ):

Max Studio United - Black
. Originally $290.00 reduced to $204.90

Jeffrey Campbell Miley - Black
. AH! Amazing mesh platform sandals! Originally $104 now $74.90

Pajar Bomba - Off White. Oh I have been loving these all-weather boots for at least a year now. Loves them. $154

Dolce Vita Wesley - Black. $124. I love me some Dolce Vita.

Oh, and this bag was "recommended to me" as I was looking at those Dolce Vita shoes:

Pietro Alessandro 2084. I love the foldover style. $198.

What's actually in my price range? Well, nothing. But the closest thing is probably these socks:

Hue Delicate Pointelle Sock - Blush. 2 bucks.

woooh front page goodness

I was checking my google analytics and thought to myself "wtf? how did i get over 400 views yesterday?" Sadly, my average views range from the 30-50 range.

For my fellow etsians, I hope you are familiar with craftcult.com, a great resource for finding out stats about your etsy shop. You can search the vault by entering in your username and see if you've been featured on the front page.

Also, check out Etsy Front Pagers on Flickr which is a community who archives screenshots of all the etsy front pages. Here's the one I was featured in! The Kelly Green Pumps are mine:

and the winner is ....

So... the vlog thing didn't work out this time. Hopefully I can post a fun blog soon though to make up for it. However , using randomizer.org I determined the winner of the hello kitty giveaway is Mesha! Check out her awesome blog.

Congratulations to Mesha! DM me your mailing address on twitter or something so I can get your goodies sent to you!

I have lots of things to talk about since I haven't blogged in awhile. First of all I am planning a review/guide site with Michael. We'll be reviewing restaurants, stores, other points of interest and let me just say our website is going to be GOOD.

I did a review of six kinds of vanilla yogurt and will be posting that up soon with pictures, of course.

And I found some amazing boots at this crazy little mall in Tacoma called B&I. If you're not familiar, don't worry, it will be one of the establishments Michael and I review and we'll tell you all about it. Not sure what I'll wear 'em with but check out the pictures:

The lighting was dark, but they're a really pretty white manmade leather with antiqued gold/brass hardware. Amazing details. PEEP TOE. buckles. Straps. Zipper embellishments, cool stitching detail, inner zipper for easy on/off and a wonderful mix of textures including patent leather, regular leather and gold metallic. Maybe I'll do an outfit post once I figure out what I can wear with them.

Aaahh! Real Monsters

i'm in no financial position to be shopping, but i got an email that Lorisshoes.com was having a sale! Up to 70% off so I checked it out and it's pretty good! Click here to go directly to the sale.

These two pairs of sandals caught my eye:

Since it's been so hot I've been turning my computer off during the day and lying around downstairs trying not to die (laugh all you want, Stephanie). Anyway, it's been good as I've made a few drawings that I like. I've been drawing monsters!

I am really nauseous for some reason today. I had a dentist appointment which I cancelled. And now I'm going to go lie down in the fetal position in misery. Ciao!

100th Post!!!

So I keep hitting these milestones and I feel like I should be posting something more exciting, but you're just going to have to deal with the fact that I am boring.

My parents went down to Oregon to visit my grandparents. I haven't had the house to myself in a long time! I'm kind of excited about it, but I don't know what to do with myself. My plan was to do some sewing and watch crappy free OnDemand movies. I think I'll clean up my room a bit, do some laundry, and do some etsy stuff.

I decorated these shoes and put them on etsy today. They're kind of ridiculous and I like it.

Tag eight other people.

Well, I'm breaking the rule and I'm not going to tag anyone because I don't want anyone to feel pressured into doing this, but if you want to copy it and post it, please do! I love doing stuff like this and it'd be fun to read what other people's answers are (:

one from the archives ...

November 13th, 2007 in Tokyo:

what i ended up bringing with me what i ended up leaving behind:
mid calf brown boots, knee high black boots, purple ankle boots, black patent calfhair wedges, black ballet flats, running shoes, underwear, bras, fur coat, fur lined hooded jacket, magenta jacket, other assorted jackets and blazers, leggings, jeans, two short sleeved turtlenecks, trapeze tops, dresses, a painting that's a gift for the bf, a miniature broom and dustpan (housewarming gift), glass photo coasters (another housewarming gift), four hats, scarves, long black leather gloves, short black leather gloves, cream cashmere fingerless gloves, shampoo, *conditioner (still need to buy), face wash, body wash, hair products, hair accessories, makeup, straight iron, curling iron, ipod, books, magazines, airplane snacks, wallet, passport, sunglasses, contact lenses and cases, glasses, robe, nintendo ds, digital camera, rechargeable batteries + charger, camera cable, ds charger ....

plus ... had my hello kitty ash tray bought from ebay delivered to japan address.

what i've purchased here:
3 drawer acrylic organizer for makeup, hello kitty pajamas, weird sweatshirt, fake nails, rubber nail charms, sketch pad, two graph paper notebooks, 3 pens, 3 sable brushes, watercolors, f cup cookies (did not work), camouflage pet sling carrier for my dog, blue squeaky pig dog toy, panda parka for dog, yellow circle sunglasses, weird flip up sunglasses as gift for ...

... will continue to add to this list as i remember all the shit i've bought ...

still on my list: gifts for friends and fam, heel saddle shoes like the bally ones i wanted from nordstrom but $550 cheaper, more stuff for my dog

Reading this again makes me smile because packing for trips is always fun for me. It requires organizing which I enjoy and forming lists which I also enjoy. And it reminds me of having THINGS. Like clothes and gifts and accessories and it reminds me of when my biggest disappointment in my life was that my boyfriend wouldn't propose. I wonder how I would've felt if I knew today I would have an engagement ring from him. Sitting in a box on my dresser. And I'm single.

these shoes:

make me excited for spring.

It's 7 am, haven't gone to sleep yet. Packaged all the orders/sales I made this weekend. Sold my ruffle-ridden clutch to a good friend in Seattle (: Made some new cards. Sliced up a chanel watch ad, wove the strips back together onto watercolor paper. Hand-painted stems/clouds. Cut and paste.

"ugh."

I ended up getting a little less than 5 hours of sleep last night (this morning. yesterday morning? my schedule is so f-ed up) before my therapy appointment. Usually this means I kind of sit there and stare off past her a lot. But I was actually quite alert and chatty.

We didn't talk about religion as we'd planned to. I decided I wanted to talk about

a) My mom
b) My issues with eating
c) My dad's issues with my eating
d) MY issues with my mom's eating

Hahaha. On my way home from the counselor I stopped by Goodwill to look for fabric. While I was shopping, a girl complimented my shoes and it made me smile. I bought some awesome fabric and was planning on going home and immediately whipping up a dress or something but when I pulled into the driveway my dad was outside because he had just gotten the mail. He works at the hospital as a chaplain. I opened my car door and had one foot out ...

"I just saw Jill. She would really like to see you. Today would be a good day to do that, she's having a good day."

"Oh. Okay." I said and put my foot back in my car and closed the door and drove to the hospital. I met my friend Jill when I was working as a caregiver, and she was one of the people I took care of. She's only like 61 but has a lot of health probz and she's one of the coolest people I know. I kept telling her I'd come over and watch a movie with her or something but I didn't. One or the other of us was always having a "I'm-laying-in-bed-crying-and-don't-want-to-see-anyone" day. But she's been in the hospital awhile and even spent two weeks up at Harborview and was about to die. And I feel like such a shitty friend.

I bought her a stupid stuffed duck because I honestly thought "If it were me, I'd rather have a stuffed animal than flowers because I would probably be lying in that hospital bed crying every night and then I'd have something to cuddle with." OH and she's blind so I figured a card wouldn't be the best idea.

Apparently though, she likes being in the hospital because she's been there so often the nurses and she know eachother and she didn't seem too down about the sitch. I went to her house and picked up some stuff for her and all in all spent about 3 hours with her.

I hadn't eaten yet so I told her I had to go home and eat.

I went home and heated a can of soup. Then I started feeling really nauseous and I passed out from 8pm-2am. I still feel nauseous. And sad. And awake. When I first woke up my face kept curling up into that awful "I'm-gonna-cry" grimace that happens. But I didn't cry very much. And then what did I do? I texted my ex boyfriend (not the recent leaves-the-toilet-seat-up one but the Left-Me-For-Japan-for-Two-Years one) and I said "I want to smell you so bad." WTF? I very frequently really really hate the things I do.

Ugh.

PS Gilt.com had a Bally sale recently and they had THESE shoes. Which I actually almost bought at Nordstrom when they were new because I'd seen them online, but thankfully the Nordstrom in Tacoma did not have them (duh) and while they could have ordered them for me, there was no way I was paying $600 that I did not have for a pair of shoes that wouldn't even be instant gratification. Then I saw them at Nordstrom Rack like a year later, but just when I was about to purchase them THEN, I realized one of the shoes I had was a 7 and one was a 6 1/2. And the white leather was different colors on each shoe. Awk-ward. Gilt.com did not have my size but it was a bittersweet reminder of what could have been. Sigh.

Tokyo! the movie, post office, swaps, shoe shops and sleep.

This movie looks pretty great.

I sold over half my wardrobe on eBay and shipped out several packages of stuff. I also sold a coat on etsy! Thank god, because now I can pay my cell phone bill.

P1010139 P1010147

I also sent a birthday card to my friend Roy and a kawaii postcard for a Swap-Bot swap. Other swaps I've done/am going to do are:

"Worst Date Ever" email swap
Owl ATC Swap
Twilight Music Swap - this swap you make a CD of music that SHOULD have been on the Twilight soundtrack and send it your partner. I've already started working on mine.
Gain Exposure to Your Blog Swap
Mini Recipe Book Swap

I love swap-bot.

I'm so tired. I ran out of my Wellbutrin prescription and have honestly been too lazy to call my doctor to refill it. That's bad. But Wellbutrin is the reason why I can't sleep.

I was window shopping at endless.com (my fave shoe store) and kept putting things in my cart that I liked. My subtotal is $1,600.00. Yikes. Click here to see a screenshot. Lolz

Oh yeah, and I cleaned my room. It was looking like this:

borrreeddd

Want to know a random fact about me? My favorite shoe designers are: Pour la Victoire. Sam Edelman. Dolce Vita. Giuseppe Zanotti. And I really want these boots despite the fact that I should probably be focusing on spring fashion right now.

I can imagine wearing them with gray leggings and a rabbit fur jacket.

It's 4:44 am and I can't sleep. I'm not at my house so I can't make cards or do anything crafty because I have no materials. I'm bored so I just looked up my horoscope for today. It says:

Your ambition is starting to get revved up today, thanks to the inspiring progress a friend or coworker has made. But before you follow in their footsteps, you have to figure out what you'll do once you reach your destination! Moving forward without a plan is only going to result in you getting lost. So hold off making any big moves today -- wait to see how things pan out for other people. You need to plan your career goals out completely before you pursue them.

That's kind of bull. I'm going to lay in bed and place Princess Peach some more.
